MIAPT is a non-profit professional organization established to promote the principles and practice of play therapy and to enhance the professional development of its members. The Michigan Association for Play Therapy, Inc. (MIAPT) is the Michigan State Branch of the Association for Play Therapy (APT) with the organizations having dual membership. Members of the organization can be professional individual or affiliate individual members. A professional member is any licensed mental health professional. A professional member may attend MIAPT meetings, hold office and vote. An affiliate member is any full-time student, parent, or other non-professional mental or physical health provider. Affiliate members may attend MIAPT meetings but may not hold office or vote.
